At Veritas Collegiate Academy, we offer a comprehensive academic program that includes a wide range of subjects designed to provide a well-rounded education. Our curriculum is based on the classical Christian education philosophy, incorporating the Trivium - grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages - to ensure students receive a holistic learning experience.

Chess Team

The chess team is a dedicated group of students who meet weekly for 1.5 hours to hone their strategic skills and passion for the game. With a focus on fostering critical thinking and teamwork, the team actively participates in online school competitions, showcasing their talent and competitive spirit. Through consistent practice and a commitment to improvement, the Veritas chess team continues to make strides in the world of scholastic chess.

AI Presedential Challenge

The school is thrilled to join the Presidential AI Challenge, a national initiative launched in 2025 to empower K-12 students in harnessing artificial intelligence to tackle real-world community issues. Through collaborative projects—from apps addressing local environmental concerns to chatbots promoting community engagement—the club fosters creativity and technical skills, positioning our students to shine in this exciting showcase of America's next generation of AI leaders.

Mugs and Conversations

Mugs & Conversations

In this club, we will use the microwave to bake different mug cakes each week: Chocolate, peanut butter, banana... Then we will enjoy our mug cakes and talk about life. You can suggest topics you want to talk about: stress, self-esteem, friends, dating... We will discuss whatever you are interested in and see what the Bible has to say about these topics.

Typing Club

The Typing Club is a fun and engaging after-school group designed for elementary students to build strong keyboarding skills. The club emphasizes proper hand placement, posture, and technique in a supportive environment where students can learn at their own pace. Whether they’re new to typing or looking to sharpen their skills, members of the club develop an essential skill that will benefit them throughout their academic journey and beyond.

Board Games

This club is for students to socialize and play games together. Students with a shared interest in games are encouraged to join. It will be a great time.

Colorful Dice

Model UN

Fostering a deeper understanding of international relations, diplomacy, and the importance of cooperation in a globalized world. Model UN is a full-year student-led club with activities which include: Research and Preparation, Practice Debates, and Conferences. This club will meet once per week during lunchtime on Mondays, simulating the United Nations, where students take on the roles of diplomats representing different countries. Students will research global issues, debate solutions, draft resolutions, and collaborate to address complex challenges like human rights and international conflicts. Music Club

The Music Club at Veritas Collegiate Academy is an exciting way for students to

explore their interest in music. Students bring their own ideas to the forefront with guidance from the music teacher. All styles and formats are considered, with minor exceptions. Opportunities for performance occur through impromptu performances throughout the year, and bi-weekly within our Chapel meetings. This year, we are going to include Choir Concepts as part of the club, which will give students the opportunity to prepare appropriate material for formal events in the Chapel and other school functions. Much of this repertoire will cover the Medieval and Early Renaissance Eras.

Students will be asked to build various things and present their projects to the class. Students will have time to play with others.

Bible Knowledge

Are you picking up a Bible for the first time? Do you wish you could understand more about the Bible? Do you want to learn how to study the Bible? The Bible is the most influential book in history. It is here that one learns of the oracles of God to that he might live in joyful submission to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Come to this club where you will do an inductive Bible study of Philippians and parts of other books. You will be edified!

Journalism Club

The Journalism Club is designed for students who enjoy writing, planning, and creative expression. Each month, every member is assigned a specific piece to cover, typically a review of different Veritas events that have taken place. This gives students the chance to practice reporting, analysis, and clear communication while highlighting the life of the school community. Students who are more interested in art and design can contribute by creating layouts, adding

visuals, and working with Canva to make the newsletters polished and engaging. Together, the team produces a monthly publication that captures and celebrates the events and achievements of Veritas.

Robotics

Robotics

Students in the robotics club will design, build, test, and program a robot using sensors, controllers, and actuators. Students will form a team to participate in qualifying competitions from November to February 2026, depending on the readiness of the robot. Regular meetings are on Friday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 PM. Half day will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 PM.

 

Extra meetings are expected during the competition season.

Anime Drawing

Art Club

Art Club is going to be a time frame offered to Grammar school students for multiple purposes. During each art club session, the art teacher will be demonstrating how to construct various forms (2D, 3D, drawing, etc) of artworks and crafts by using different types of art materials and found objects together. In addition to the art club project sequences, students may also use the art club time to work on their art class projects as well if needed.
